WordPress Powers One Third Of The Web
WordPress hit another major milestone announcing today that they now power 1/3rd of the top 10 million websites.
From 50,000 downloads in 2005 to the latest release on 21st February being downloaded 14 million times, WordPress has certainly become one of the go-to CMS solutions for businesses of all sizes.
In what shows the huge scale of the web, WordPress tails behind 44.7% of websites which have no CMS, with 33.4% market share. Joomla follows in third place with just 2.9%.
Other notable names in the top 10 include Drupal, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix and Magento. According to W3Techs.
